Topkapi Palace

The Topkapi Palace has been the center of the state administration for around four centruies of the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the biggest museum in turkey now and contains important holy relics of the Muslim world, including Muhammed's sword. This is one of the most famous mosque in Turkey known as Blue Mosque for the beautiful blue tiles attached to the walls of Its interior. It was buit by famous architech Sinan's student Mehmet Aga by the order of Sultan Ahmed as a complex in Sultanahmet square. This historical monument is also known as the Sunken Palace, It was used as the water storage for the Byzantine Great Palace. There are 336 marbled columns supporting a cathedral ceiling and some of them taken from torn-down temples. Each of these columns are 30ft/9m high. The interior is amazing with dim lighting and classical music is played to create an eerie athmosphere. The Princes Islands are nine islands next to each other next to Asian cost on the Sea of Marmara. There are public transportation ferries that are slow and fast ferry boats are available from Kabatas to go four main islands. Any type of car or motor vehicles are not allowed in these islands except the once use for public works, so people can walk, rent a bicycle and horse carriage ride around the islands. These are beautiful little islands where local people have their own summer homes or go there for swimming and for picnicking. The name of these islands are Buyukada, Heybeliada, Burgazada and Kinaliada.
